The monthly Painter's Club previously held on Saturdays has been discontinued until further notice. Additional information on this activity will be forthcoming.

Covid 19 impact on Monthly Meetings

Due to the impact and restrictions of the current pandemic situation, NCMSS is now conducting its meetings virtually through the Zoom Web Conferencing Platform.  This is a very user friendly platform that many others have been using as well. These meetings have been scheduled at the same time as our past meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month starting at 7:30 pm.

Notifications and a link for the meeting are sent via e mail to our friends and members.

A “Virtual Parade Ground” of member’s current projects and a hobby related presentation similar to our in-person meetings is a part of the agenda.  If you wish to take part in a meeting as a guest please E Mail the NCMSS Adjutant David Hoffman at with your request.

Parade Ground photo submissions with a description can also be sent in the same manner or posted to the NCMSS Facebook page at

After a short business meeting, club members present their latest efforts, recent purchases, and/or other items of interest on the "Parade Ground" table. Presentations may be a verbal report on a show they attended, a piece of military gear, or a figure that is somewhere between "just got it" and "just finished". They informally tell the rest of the club about their project. Sometimes this starts lively discussions that continue during the remainder of our meeting. If you want to learn more about historical miniatures, there couldn't be a better place than the NCMSS free-for-all discussions that enhance our meetings. The club's motto is "To Honor History Through Art" and that's second nature to our members. It's just amazing how much history they know. Quarterly, the meeting hosts a flea market at which members can sell or trade items from their collections.

But it is not just historical miniatures that appear on the "Parade Ground" table. Several of our members are keenly interested in Fantasy and Science Fiction, as well, and there are quite a number of unusual and fantastic figures from these genres. Size is no barrier either, as we also enjoy showing traditional gaming table size (25-32mm) as well as 200mm full figures and large
